    Poker House (2009)

" One of those autobiographical films... like Running With Scissors... that shows how children can survive and even prosper emotionally, spiritually (eventually) despite a ghastly childhood"

    Paranormal Activity (2009)

" A couple may be desperate enough to place a camera on a tripod to record what goes bump in the night but the enforced recording of every other moment soon becomes a tiresome construct that turns the whole film into a wobbly home video with terrible sound."

    Prey (2009)

" Supernatural thriller meets splatter movie meets clunky horror (with chainsaw), meets zombie movie ... Prey is a hybrid that doesn't have enough juice in any of the genres in which plays to be effective, despite some promise in its conception."

    Public Enemies (2009)

" At times incoherent, at times self conscious and thanks to Dante Spinotti being allowed to go hand held, almost always irritating to watch."

    Punishment (2008)

" A dense and tense thriller, Punishment is a well conceived genre film with a gritty and bloody core, with a strong story that reveals new elements as it goes. Danny Matier's debut is likely to be compared to Greg McLean's Wolf Creek."

Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid (1973)

" It's one of the great tragic true stories of the old wild West, the story of two outlaw friends ending up enemies as one turns over and becomes a lawman - expressly for the purpose of hunting down his friend."
