    ANNIE YOUNG FRISBIE

Agrees with the Tomatometer 50% of the time.

Biography: Annie Young Frisbie earned an MA in Cinema Studies at NYU while waiting on customers at the infamous Kim's Underground video store. She cleared art for Pollock, placed products for Spike Lee and Todd Haynes, and spent five weeks in Iceland on a Hal Hartley movie. She carries a WGA card and taught screenwriting to college students. She's been to Sundance twice as a journalist and once as a filmmaker. Annie would rather watch a 1950s Hollywood drama than an artsy foreign film, unless it's by Fassbinder or Visconti. She lives in Queens with gaffer husband John Frisbie and daughter Beatrice. She blogs at Reading is my Superpower and hawks her crafting wares at Trixie-Bee.

The Princess and the Frog (2009)

" While Disney seems to be trying to counter some of its pervasive princess ideology, The Princess and the Frog is still showing women who can't get by without men."

    Captain Abu Raed (2008)

" Despite the film's flaws, there's something winsome about Abu Raed in his captain's hat, entertaining kids with visits to cities that exist only in his imagination."

    Drag Me To Hell (2009)

" It's creepy and gory, not to mention theologically suspect, and will give all but the most stalwart horror fans an unshakable case of the screaming meemees."

    The Cross (2009)

" Director Matthew Crouch piles up Blessitt-story after Blessitt-story, but never finds The Story. It's just a mess."
