Marc Singer was born on January 29, 1948, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. He was born in a family of performers. Marc's father Jacques is a symphony conductor, and his mother Leslie is a concert pianist. His sister is actress Lori Singer, known for her role as Ariel in the movie Footloose, and his cousin is director Bryan Singer. He grew up in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Marc is married to Hawaiian-born actress Haunani Minn.

He has starred in several fantasy adventure films, such as The Beastmaster, in which he is well known for his role as Dar. He acted in the 1983 mini-series V and its 1984 sequel V: The Final Battle as Mike Donovan. He also played that role in V: The Series from 1984 to 1985.

He reprised his role as Dar in Beastmaster 2: Through the Portal of Time and Beastmaster III: The Eye of Braxus.

Other roles include the (1982) movie If You Could See What I Hear where he portrayed real life blind musician Tom Sullivan. His other films include Body Chemistry, Watchers II, High Desert Kill, The Fighter and Dead Space.

Marc Singer's other television credits include Dallas, The Twilight Zone, Something for Joey, The Hitchhiker, Murder, She Wrote, The Young and the Restless and Highlander, as an Immortal named Caleb Cole in the Season 1 episode "Mountain Men."

Marc Singer appeared in the BeastMaster television series as Dartanus from 2001 to 2002.

In June 2006, Marc attended the first Bionicon in Tampa, Fl.

Trivia

  • Played Petruchio in the American Conservatory Theatre production of Shakespeare's Taming of the Shrew.
  • Is a Master of Hung Gar Kung Fu.
