Logan Wade Lerman (born January 19, 1992) is an American actor. He began acting in the early 2000s, and is perhaps best known for his roles in Jack & Bobby and the 2006 family film Hoot.

Biography

Lerman was born in Beverly Hills, California, and decided that he wanted to be an actor at the age of two. He subsequently appeared in two commercials, and made his film debut in 2000's The Patriot, playing William Martin, one of the children of Mel Gibson's character. The same year, he also appeared in What Women Want, a hit comedy also starring Gibson. Lerman's next roles were in 2001's Riding in Cars with Boys, playing the younger version of Adam Garcia's character, and in 2004's The Butterfly Effect, as a younger version of Ashton Kutcher's protagonist.

Lerman's role in the 2003 made-for-television film, A Painted House, won him a Young Artist Award for "Best Peformance by a Leading Young Actor" in a television production. In 2004, Lerman was cast in the television series, Jack & Bobby, playing the role of Robert McCallister, one of the title siblings. The show ran on The WB Television Network during the 2004-2005 season, and was subsequently cancelled, though Lerman won another Young Artist Award for his performance. Lerman's most recent film is Hoot, in which he plays the lead role of Roy Eberhardt. The film opened on May 5, 2006. His next film is The Number 23, in which he will play the son of Jim Carrey's character.

Lerman enjoys playing soccer and basketball, and is an LA Lakers fan.
