Alexander "Sandy" Morton (born 1945) is a Scottish actor. He has been on the screen and on stage in Britain for more than 40 years and has become a household name to many women across the world. Forums and websites devoted to him abound on the internet, often created by his large number of international female fans.
Although he has had roles in several of Britain's leading drama series, such as Between the Lines, Minder, Taggart, Second Sight and Casualty, he is best known for playing the gamekeeper Golly in the BBC TV series Monarch of the Glen (2000-2005) and the arch-villain Andy Semple in Scotland's long-running soap opera Take the High Road.
His film work includes Croupier (1998), Gregory's Two Girls (1999), Silent Scream, Get Carter and I'll Sleep when I'm Dead, starring Clive Owen.
Morton, who lives in London, has two adult children, Jamie and Kerry, who, after acting for many years, eventually broke off from the tradition and now work in different spheres. An undeveloped filmography for Sandy's son, Jamie Morton, can be viewed here.
