Amanda Jeannette Detmer (born September 27, 1971 in Contra Costa County, California, and raised in Chico, California to Melvin Detmer and Susan Thurmon) is an American actress who made her big screen debut playing Miss Minneapolis in the beauty pageant-set comedy Drop Dead Gorgeous. She has also made notable appearances in Saving Silverman and Big Fat Liar. She also appeared in Final Destination as Terry Chaney, the second death of the film, who was killed after being hit by a bus. She appeared in the movie (Sands of the Sahara) within the movie, The Majestic, opposite Bruce Campbell.
Though Detmer made her onscreen debut in 1995 with the television movie Stolen Innocence, she decided to complete her Master of Fine Arts from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts before seriously embarking on a career in show business.
She currently appears in the ABC television show What About Brian.
She is not related to Koy Detmer or Ty Detmer.
