Chris Cunningham is a English music video film director and video artist who was born in Reading, Berkshire in 1970, and grew up in Lakenheath, Suffolk.

His first music video was for Warp Records act Autechre in 1995.

His video work, "flex" (containing original music by Aphex Twin) was exhibited at the Royal Academy of Arts in London in 2000.

He has worked on special make-up effects for the films Alien³, Alien: Resurrection and Judge Dredd and model making on Hardware and Nightbreed. He also worked for over a year on the film A.I. when it was a Stanley Kubrick project.

A DVD containing Chris Cunningham's innovative music promos and adverts called The Work Of Director Chris Cunninghams was released in November 2004.

In 2005 Chris Cunningham released the short film 'Rubber Johnny' as a DVD (with music by Aphex Twin) accompanied by his first book. On 17 August 2005 Cunningham appeared at the Portobello Film Festival and said he is currently writing two feature films, as well as answering questions from the audience about his work.
