Garrett John Hedlund (born September 3, 1984) is an American actor and former male fashion model.
Biography
Early life
Hedlund was born in Roseau, Minnesota on September 3 to Robert Martin Hedlund and Kristine Ane Yanish; he has two siblings, Nathaniel and Amanda. He grew up on a farm in a small town, later moving to Scottsdale, Arizona to live with his mother after she and his father divorced, where he attended Horizon High School. He participated in the school's wrestling, track, and football teams and graduated a semester early.
Career
Prior to starting his film career, Garrett modeled for L.L. Bean and in Teen Magazine before he was discovered by an agent. He began his acting career after graduating from high school. His first film role was in 2003,as Frank in "The Original Donut Chronicles".In 2004, he played Patroclus, Achilles's cousin, in the movie "Troy". And, he also appeared in the film "Friday Night Lights" during that same year.
In 2005, Hedlund co-starred in John Singleton's crime movie, Four Brothers, as one of the four titular siblings. Also, he plays a major supporting role - the role of Murtagh - in film version of the book Eragon, slated to be released December 15, 2006.
