Gary Kemp (born 16 October 1959, in Islington, London) is an English pop artist who was the leader and chief songwriter for the 1980s New Romantic band Spandau Ballet. His brother Martin Kemp played bass guitar in the band.
Later career
Following the demise of the band, Kemp became an actor, winning rave reviews for his performance as Ronald Kray in The Krays (1990).
He was married to actress Sadie Frost (the couple divorced in 1997) with whom he had one son, Finlay Munro (born 1990). Kemp is now married to costume designer Lauren Barber with whom he has another son Milo Wolf.
Kemp released the folk inspired Little Bruises album in 1995, his only solo album, but he has written songs with a number of other writers for other artists including American soap star, Jacob Young.
He has also written two productions with Guy Pratt for the stage: "Bedbug" which was performed in a variety of venues during the Shell Connections Youth Drama Festival in 2004; and "A Terrible Beauty" which is based on the life of William Butler Yeats & Maude Gonne.
Songs from "A Terrible Beauty" are now available to hear on his official site (see links below).
