Hugh Herbert (b. August 10, 1887 in Binghamton, New York - d. March 12, 1952 in North Hollywood, California) was a playwright and an actor both of the motion picture and stage. When starting his career in Vaudeville, he wrote over 150 plays and sketches. When hitting out to Hollywood which boosted his career, Hubert became a major tycoon in the movie business. Herbert was a popular comedian, known throughout the 1930s and 1940s in the United States. Usually in movies, he was seen flutting his fingers together, with his popular and soft-spoken catchphrase, "hoo-hoo, hoo-hoo, wonderful, wonderful" when he exclaims.

Hugh Herbert has a "Star" on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
