James McCaffrey (born in 1960, Albany, New York) is an Irish-American actor. He is best known in the television series Rescue Me, as Denis Leary's characters' (Tommy) dead former FDNY firefighter cousin, Jimmy, and in Viper as the lead role. McCaffrey is also known as the voice of the title character in the video games, Max Payne and Max Payne 2, a fugitive cop framed for murdering his partner.
McCaffrey has also had roles in the television shows As the World Turns and Sex and the City.
Despite many rumours, James McCaffrey will not be voicing the character of Max Payne in the independent film Max Payne: Payne & Redemption.
