On the set of Mel Gibson's controversial The Passion of the Christ, Debney claimed to have experienced several weird, unexplained events involving the destruction of his equipment. He believed it was the work of the Devil, whom he challenged to a fist fight in the parking lot on the set, as he had grown immensely aggravated with the inconveniences on set.
