Dr. Jon Cohen is a doctor and politician in New York. He practices medicine in Nassau County and has been active in medicial management. In 2004 he was a health care policy advisor to the Presidential Campaign of Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry.
In 2005, Cohen announced his candidacy for the Democratic nomination for Lieutenant Governor of New York. His platform centered on health care and health policy issues. After Attorney General Eliot Spitzer announced his selection of State Senate Minority Leader David Paterson as his lieutenant governor running mate in January 2006, Cohen dropped out of the race. Cohen has since become a health care policy advisor to the Spitzer/Paterson ticket.
