Kevin Grevioux (born in Chicago, Illinois, but spent most of his childhood in Minnesota, Boston, and New Jersey) is an American actor, screenwriter, and comic book writer.
He has been seen in such films as The Mask, Steel, Congo, Tim Burton's Planet of the Apes remake and the 2003 vampire vs. werewolf film, Underworld, starring actress Kate Beckinsale.
He has also worked as a stuntman on occasion.
Underworld was Grevioux’s first produced writing credit. A film in which he came up with the original premise and wrote the original screenplay along with director Len Wiseman, and launched the Underworld franchise.
Using Romeo and Juliet as an archetype, Grevioux, a former microbiologist with a background in genetic engineering, actually based Underworld on his experiences with interracial dating and the tension that it often causes. He also brought a scientific element to the world of vampires and werewolves by basing vampirism and lycanthropy on a viral mutagen rather than the mysticism typically associated with these two mythic creatures.
Grevioux has recently formed two comic book imprints which will be published through Alias Enterprises run by Publisher, Brett Burner and Executive Director, Mike S. Miller.
Grevioux’s Astounding Studios imprint will focus on All-Ages titles such as Valkyries, Guardian Heroes and The Hammer Kid. The Darkstorm Studios imprint is a more mature line that will highlight the books Alius Rex, The Pale Horsemen and Universe City. These titles will begin publication in 2006.
He is perhaps noted for his distinctive voice, which is naturally deep. In the commentary of the original Underworld he admits that during the promotion and launch of the film, many fans had asked him if his voice was altered by computer. They were surprised to find that his voice wasn't.
