Margaret Grace Denig (born September 21, 1983) is an American actress, who, under the stage name Maggie Grace, is best known for her work as Shannon Rutherford on the television series Lost.
Partial biography
Grace was born in Columbus, Ohio, but currently lives in Los Angeles.
She launched her acting career in 2002, starring in Murder in Greenwich and Shop Club. In 2003, she played the Goth-influenced, estranged daughter of Tom Selleck and Wendy Crewson in the drama 12 Mile Road.
Grace’s big break came when she landed the role of the lazy and self-centered Shannon Rutherford in the critically-acclaimed TV series Lost. Her latest project, released in late 2005, was the nearly universally-panned Rotten Tomatoes - The Fog - 6% remake of the John Carpenter [1] film, The Fog, co-starring Tom Welling of Smallville.
It has been rumored that Maggie will be starting a singing career.
Grace was rumored to play Kitty Pryde (Shadowcat) in X-Men 3 Coming Soon film news, but this was quickly proven false, and the role went to Ellen Page. Maggie herself stated in an interview she was never contacted about the role and was surprised to read she was up for the part in question.
