Michael Fassbender (born April 2, 1977) is a German-born actor, brought up in Killarney, Ireland, and currently a resident of London. He plays Azazeal in the Sky One UK Television series Hex.
He also appeared in the Guinness TV ad where swam from Ireland to the US to deliver a personal apology. Other credits include Band of Brothers and the upcoming Frank Miller film 300 with Gerard Butler.
His father is a chef/restauranteur in Killarney, Co. Kerry.
During the 2006 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Michael co-starred with Mel Smith in Allegiance, a play based on the meeting between Winston Churchill and Michael Collins. Michael played Michael Collins (in reality a distant relative) and by many accounts was riveting on stage.
