Stuart Margolin (Born January 31 1940 in Davenport, Iowa) is an American film and television actor. He is best known for his Emmy Award-winning role on the television show The Rockford Files, playing Jim Rockford's (James Garner) shifty friend and former cellmate Evelyn "Angel" Martin.
Margolin appeared in several episodes of the series Love, American Style. His brother, Arnold Margolin was the executive producer of that series.
Margolin has been directing TV shows since the early 1970s, including episodes of The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Magnum P.I., Bret Maverick, Quantum Leap, and Northern Exposure. He released an album in 1980 entitled "And the Angel Sings". He and his wife Pat live on Salt Spring Island, British Columbia, Canada near Victoria, BC.
