i recently had the opportunity to view how i got lost and i gotta say its pretty OK. it felt to me that the film was missing important scenes that should have been there but weren't. the film could have been really good if the movie gave you more story instead of trying to look deep and super serious.Aaron Stanford did a great job in this movie ( the guy from x-men pryo). its no garden state but nice try

Jesus Camp. I think it's an indie film.

I think that documentaries fit the criteria for an indie film more so than an indie screen write. Whatever it is, Jesus Camp is an excellent movie!

Jesus Camp has to be one of the more disturbing films I've seen. I love it though.

I saw Jesus Camp and it´s really really disturbing but saddly very very real. It reminded me the part in Borat where he goes to a religious service in Texas.

it's still in theaters, but if you love music & indie films, then go see Taking Woodstock. It's not about the festival itself, but the story of how it got started and all the different crazy characters (Liev Schreiber is a cross dresser) makes it truly fascinating. Would Young Frankenstein be considered Indie? Anything Mel Brooks does everyone should see

Lars and the Real Girl is a good one. Little Miss Sunshine is outstanding, and I'm excited to see Sunshine Cleaning. Nice choices.

It would certainly depend on the audience. I have no idea which of these are independent. I know several aren't, but these are still some that I'd recommend.
Mature: American Psycho, There Will Be Blood, Apocalypse Now, Fight Club, Rushmore, The Royal Tenenbaums, The Lives of Others, Pans Labyrinth, A Clockwork Orange.
Younger/All: The Nightmare Before Christmas, The Truman Show, The Explorers, Goonies.

I wanted to be a Goonie as well. However, the closest I could get was the Nintendo game.

watch anything David Gordon Green has done. His most popular movie is probably Pineapple Express (which is excellent) but his others are far more serious. My favorite of his (and one of my favorite movies ever) is George Washington. Also, get Undertow and Snow Angels which he did as well.

My top three favorite movies are Indie films and I wasn't even aware of it.
1.) American Beauty 2.) Crash 3.) 500 Days of Summer

Nevertheless, Pulp Fiction is in my all-time top ten too.

I liked the list you posted.

The one I like the best was Platoon because of the great acting and the underlying battle of good versus evil set in the Vietnam. This movie has alot of heart.

Momento is also a good indie film because it was creative with the way the story is told, so you get an idea of what the main character is going through.

I liked Memento, but it sometimes felt like i was watching a quentin tarentino film, what w/ the whole telling the story backwards and everything
