So anyone see this movie yet? One of my friends and I are planning to go see this as a comedy just to see how this teen romance got worse than the crappy original

I saw it with my wife. It's actually very funny. I think it should be nominated for a Golden Globe in Comedy. Robert Pattinson has perfect comedic timing.

That's the same reaction I had when I saw the first one. I am really glad the 2nd movie hasn't changed.

Just wrote a blog about how great (or at least box office smash hits) could end prematurely just because of one bad movie in the series....So please read and comment on what you think on the topic (and it's my first blog so pointers would be great)

It's a good star to a blog. I agree with what you are saying. Pirates 2 totally killed the POTC franchise. Though to be fair Pirates 3 was even worse. If there is a Pirates 4 the lame boring characters of Elizabeth Swan and William Turner most likly will not be involved which garuntees the film to be much better then 2-3 however people will not want to watch it because of how bad 2-3 were.

Saw speaking, number 3 was my favorite.

Now I've felt (as I'm sure many have felt) that there favorite movie never get's nominated. This year hasn't exactly been the year of the Best pictures. Academy is considering a nomination of Ten Best Pictures. Can anyone even think of 5? Bonus points to anybody who can think of what 10 will be nominated. Is this just a ploy to nominate popular big box office films so more people will watch the Oscars. Should we be shocked if we see New Moon on the nomination list to bring in the Tween Girl Scream crowd??

What do you guys think?

I remember last year after some backlash for "Gran Torino" not getting a single nomination the Oscar commitee decided to add 5 more nominations so that more movies could have a chance...although the real reason they added 5 MORE was cause MORE people's favorite movies would be nominated meaning MORE people would watch the Oscars(they could have solved the problem by adding the Razzie awards to it but that's a different subject).

So what movies have that majic Oscar Buzz...well 2 right now but it is early....
Precious
Avatar
and one movie has the "It Probelly Will be Nominated Buzz"
The Road
Now it is early so more movies should be added to this list....hopefully

Also New Moon and that twilight crap will never get nominated. Critics, not even the tough ones that get to vote for Oscars, hate those movies. I doubt any crtic who even liked the original left it going "Yea that was way better than Slumdog Millionare!"
If they did...they must work for the MTV movie awards!
