Florida's movie is...
Key Largo
Though it's nicknamed "the Sunshine State," Florida has been home to some pretty dark cinematic material, from Scarface to Body Heat. In the classic film noir Key Largo, a fleabag hotel in the Keys becomes a hideout for the vicious gangster Johnny Rocco (Edward G. Robinson) and his crew. Not only are they wanted in the murder of several police officers and Seminole Indians, they also seek shelter from a hurricane (which shouldn't come as too much of a surprise, since Florida is hit by more tropical cyclones than any other state). One of the guests, Frank McCloud (Humphrey Bogart) is recruited against his will to pilot a getaway craft to Cuba. However, McCloud, disgusted by the gang's treatment of the hotel owner and his daughter (Lauren Bacall) takes matters into his own hands.
