The Devil’s Tower National Monument dominates the northeastern Wyoming landscape like some kind of alien intrusion. So it’s no wonder that it’s the location of the climax of Steven Spielberg’s 1977 sci-fi epic. That alien mother ship slowly flying over Wyoming’s giant stone monolith has become one of modern cinema’s most iconic images.
