• Two pairs of Mary Janes
• Two barrettes (one for each twin)
• Fake blood (optional)

As far as Halloween scares go, you won’t find a more eerily disturbing pairs costume than that of the Grady twins from Stephen King’s The Shining. The secret? Appear to be as innocent as possible, and you’ll increase your creep factor tenfold. Dressed in your matching little girl outfits, a single barrette on the same side of your ghostly little heads, work the room holding hands and talking in the same monotonous voice: “Come play with us.” For added effect, apply a few stains of fake blood, lie on the ground and pretend you were hatched to death in the Overlook Hotel, destined to haunt its inhabitants for years and years to come.

Classic line: “Come play with us, Danny.”
