High-End Titles to Premiere at Toronto
by Scott Weinberg | June 29, 2005

Not at all surprisingly, the Toronto Film Festival announced a few of its more esteemed selections -- and there's some pretty exciting titles in there! The Steve Martin-penned "Shopgirl" (starring Claire Danes, Jason Schwartzman, and Mr. Martin himself) will debut at Toronto, as will Ang Lee's "Brokeback Mountain" (Jake Gyllenhaal & Heath Ledger), David Cronenberg's "A History of Violence" (Viggo Mortensen & Maria Bello), Atom Egoyan's "Where the Truth Lies" (Kevin Bacon & Colin Firth), and "Water," which is the third chapter in Deepa Mehta's controversial "Elemental Trilogy."

The Toronto International Film Festival, which is (arguably) North America's premiere fest, runs from Sept. 8th - 17th. For more information on TIFF, check out the official site right here!
