Angel Heart is great and has no need for a remake. Bad director choice for Thor, I just never liked him and I especially disliked his remake of SLEUTH. The Jack Black Bourne type flick sounds more like an SNL skit but could be funny. They dont need a sequal to 300, 300 was just a fun dumb B movie that was pretty to look at. Dont know about that new Kennedy flick, you just cant top JFK its too amazing. I still cant decie whether I like the Superman reboot yet, while I liked the first one I was still dissapointed. The only was I can get excited for this reboot is if Mark Millar wrote it and ofcourse a great director. Green Lantern is awesome and could be a very cool movie.

Jack Black is my hero, I'm looking forward to his "Bourne Satire." DC needs to shape up if they are going to even be a threat to marvel. (Whatever happened to the Whedon's version of Wonder Woman? Are they stupid? Seriously, Whedon Wonder Woman = Awe$ome! If they had bought the script when they could have and started making a Wonder Woman movie, they probably would have had an additional blockbuster to Dark Knight this past summer.) I'm looking forward to the third batman movie and green lantern though.

Marvel's lineup is exciting. Think I'll skip the Yogi bear flick.

I loved Angel Heart. It's on my list of top 100 films of all time.I didn't think it was long at all. Further, a remake would be lame because a major character in the film is its location and time. I also think of myself as being pretty good about twist endings, but this one got me.

Also, you may remember that there are two versions of Angel Heart. The NC-17 or whatever version had more sex between Rourke and Bonet with blood flowing everywhere.

I was hoping DeNiro and Scorsesse would next do "Frankie Machine." OH Well.

I saw a special that included that Painting Houses thing. They were trying to determine where Hoffa was murdered and then moved to, and they were using technology to date how long ago paint was applied to a certain house.

I didn't like the Superman reboot. IT was someone on these boards that convinced me, he wrote something like:

"Knock a woman up and then leave the planet? Sounds like my kind of superhero!"

Branagh, B list? I don't know about all that, just because he isn't in commercially huge success' doesn't mean his work is crap, he was in some amazing films. Henry V?! Freaking amazing. Marvel is making some great moves and their decision for him as a director is the right one, I think he will be able to ground the mythos into some modern day awesomeness.

Branagh's Hamlet is pretty operatic, would could bring a nice touch to Thor. I don't think there's any debate that the man can direct a film. I do think arguments could be made as to how well he may or may not be suited to direct a superhero film, but I feel that if Brett Ratner can do it, ANYONE could, including your dog's favorite chew toy... (That's not a dig on superhero movies, although they are bad more often than good. It's really a dig on Brett Ratner.)

I referred to Kenneth Branagh as B List in terms of how Hollywood works, specifically about the ability to "open" a major movie. Robert Downey, Jr, awesome actor, but he only recently joined the A list because of Iron Man, for example. It's a short list, and sometimes arbitray, but I didn't make the rules.

Do we really need another bad live action of a nostalgic cartoon. It seems to have done wonders for Rocky and Bullwinkle, Alvin and the Chipmunks, Underdog, Scooby Doo, need I really go on. George of the Jungle was the only one close to the tone of the original, and funny.
I saw the original Angel Heart at a special screening before it was cut up and released. It was too long, kind of slow and boring. The ending did save it. Still doesn't need to be remade.

no more lex luthor and his lame as real estate. the last movie basically took forever to set up the plot and makes absolutely no sense (do the writers know that it is pratically impossible to sell a piece of land that has no water, electricity and gas). who ever came up with the plot and believe in it must never had any common sense at all. the next super man they should do is pretty simple. act one supes gets his butt liked by a bad *** villain, act two supe recovers and retrains, act three bigger battle and more destruction and eventually supe wins. not more lame *** real estate crap

I liked Singer's Superman, but it was a little too long and gave a few too many nods to the Reeve films (those are gold; however a nod or two would have sufficed). Spacey's Lex was fantastic and the best thing about Returns (Kate Bosworth's anemic portrayal or Lois being the worst). I hear the Man of Steel film was to have both Lex and Braniac. The movie made over 200M domestically. I don't know why it gets so much grief. One or two of the "right" people say something and it snowballs.

However I was beginning to get excited about a Millar penned total reboot trilogy. The only way I can see beyond Singer's more than adequate vision is in creating a new, comprehensive Superman from Krypton to Doomsday over a three film span.

I could go with a Spacey Luthor again and if this one doesn't fly then wait another several years and restart with Millar's trilogy.

Yogi Bear? Just because somebody was able to pull-off a Chipmunks movie they're going to churn out another cynical moneymaking toon film. As long as they're doing this, why not start with Snagglepuss? I vote for his film!

Singer's Superman wasn't as bad as a lot of people say, but it was definitely disappointing. I'm hopeful they've learned from their mistakes and will follow the formula of the more bad *** superhero movies we've seen recently, so I'll give it a chance.

Any Scorcese/de Niro team up gets me excited. Count me in the group that finds Jack Black's brand of humor hilarious, even though he plays the same character in almost every movie, a la Will Farrell(who also makes me laugh every time, call me sophomoric I don't care.) And Stephen Colbert in any movie will get me to watch. Just film him for 2 hours eating dinner or something and I'll pay to watch.

I guess: 16%

Another mob/gangster movie? Yawn.

The Jack Black movie sounds funny, the premise alone makes me kinda laugh inside.

Finally, this is only slightly related to the news, but instead of a Yogi movie they should make a Jetsons movie! I've wanted a live action Jetsons ever since I was 16. It would be awesome.

Thor directed by Branagh should be excellent. Yogi Bear might be o.k. Kids will love it, though; Stephen Colbert must be Ranger Smith. Steven Seagal fighting aliens? If he snaps their limbs like twigs and fills their Roswell Gray bodies with lead, I'm so there...even if the plot is completely silly. Green Lantern--great; new Batman--can't wait! Lex Luthor in another Superman makes me sigh in disappointment. An Angel Heart redo? When will Hollywood's remake generator stop? It's always good to see DeNiro and Scorsesse doing films together. And I agree with greg_dean_schmitz that bears ARE godless killing machines.

But I highly doubt that a DC triumvirate of G.L., another "humph" Supes (of the NON-reboot kind), and Batman 3 could trump Marvel's quartet of Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America AND The Avengers! Brannagh directing Thor: Don't know him, but Thor is having a director, and it seems to be on schedule and on the right track, so I'm happy!

Yogi Bear: What are they thinking? NO Hanna-Barbara cartoon EVER worked on film! (Flinstone, Scooby-doo). Not to mention all the other similar movie.

DC: Superman, I don't know, never really liked him anyway. Green Lantern, why not? DC needs more super-hero movies away from Vertigo. Batman 7/New Batman 3/ Dark Knight 2 (whatever you want to call it), oh yes. Bring it on baby!

Angel Hearth: Never saw it, but there is DeNiro, so it can't be bad. Probably not needing a remake, tough.

Steven Segal: Never seen any of his movie (Except maybe Under Siege 1 on TV) My father taught me to hate him at a early age. But aliens? Wow, that made my day.

Scorsese/DeNiro; Will it have Dicaprio in it too? Either way, I'm sold.

There is no need for a Superman Reboot! They had setup all the drama in 'Superman Returns' so they could have alot more emotionally charged action in the sequels. Who says that the reboot will be better? Just look at 'Incredible Hulk' - that sucked more then Ang Lee's version ('Hulk').
