whitey_mcwhite writes: on Aug 21 2008 09:46 AM I have to say that I would pick Steel Dragon, Strange Fruit, The Lone Rangers, and The School of Rock over most of the bands on this list. Too bad you guys are going to Tomatometer and not by the greatness of the actual fake bands within the movie! (Reply to this) |

Urban_Nomad writes: on Aug 21 2008 01:02 PM I feel like Waynes World should get some kind of a nod here. I would even consider the guys banging their heads to Queen in the Gremlin a better fake band than Josie and the Pussycats. God Gave Rock and Roll to You - Kiss (Wyld Stallions) is an A memory (Reply to this) |

RawIsRamsey writes: on Aug 21 2008 08:40 PM See, that's why I hate these lists...they base it on false tomatometers (I mean, c'mon, Bill & Ted at 81%? Not likely, even back in the day) and not on the actual content. I mean damn, no Steel Dragon, no Cassandra & Crucial Taunt, no Lone Rangers...yet CB4 is on here? Josie and the Pussycats? ****ing PoP!? Epic fail guys. (Reply to this) |

Dav3 writes: on Aug 23 2008 09:26 AM In reply to this comment (#1996485) seriously epic fail RT. It's like you just went around the room and had everybody name a movie with a band in it, sorted them by T-meter, and called it a day. I have to praise The Blues Brothers, my all-time favorite movie and one of my favorite bands too! No movie has greater quantity or quality of tunes, and I'm including musicals in that statement. Seriously, there isn't 5 mins of this movie that doesn't have FANTASTIC music behind it. It also turned me on to about a dozen of my favorite musicians, not to mention blues music in general. Also, which of the other entries have any sequels to their name? Spinal Tap is great, but Jake and Elwood are greater. P.S. you also forgot the keboardist in Spinal Tap, Viv Savage (Reply to this) |
|
CaptainSiberia writes: on Aug 25 2008 01:34 PM Spinal Tap absolutely! Some other great choices in there. But there are a few that I think should have been in the list: The Leningrad Cowboys (from several films, including The Leningrad Cowboys Go America (that's right: Go America, no "to,")) The Mohawks from Breakfast on Pluto, that band from Johnny Suede, Marty McFly's band in Back to the Future Part II. (Reply to this) |

CaptainSiberia writes: on Aug 25 2008 01:37 PM Oh, Flame from the movie of the same name. That band was actually Slade. Does that violate the rules? (Reply to this) |

yodas gooch writes: on Aug 26 2008 10:23 PM You forgot Alice Bowie in Up in Smoke. Earache My Eye anyone? oh and the Max Rebo Band gets a dishonourable mention from me (Reply to this) |
