Day of the Dead Remake Mixes Old and New
by Fred Topel | November 07, 2006
Blog Article | Discuss Article
Summary

The "Dawn of the Dead" remake revolutionized George A. Romero’s creation by making the zombies fast running monsters. Now Hollywood has decided to remake "Day of the Dead," but there might be more variety to the zombies, says star Nick Cannon. Back to Article

I thought it was Bub, not Bud.

I saw the trailer for it and was not impressed at all. The 28 Weeks Later footage was more impressive and it was mostly behind the scenes stuff.

Can't forget, of course, that this movie's got Nick Cannon. And other than possibly Drumline, I haven't seen or heard anything good involving him.

Yeah, it was Bub in the original, not Bud. Now they are mixing the fast running zombies with the slow ones??? What the hell. I've got no faith in this film being any good, which is a shame because the original is my fav zombie film pretty much ever. Still, I'll go see it anyway, because I'm a schmuk!

i don't know... this one is scaring me....
i too found the DOD trailer to be underwhelming to say the least... but sometimes crappy trailers make good movies... it is a cool idea though-- the military subplot and Bub is good stuff; i hope it goes underground into a missile silo like the original; up there in Leadville, CO it would be possible to find a silo or two.... let's keep our fingers crossed.

"It's a bad day to be zombie!"

Please, let something happen to destroy every existing print of this film. Please.

...which makes you think, really, why the HELL would they cast Nick Cannon in this? Were they PURPOSEFULLY trying to alienate and turn-off their core audience?

hey maybe he'll die really soon in the movie, like the first 5 seconds, just enough time to say "hi, im Nick Cannon" and then BOOM zombies eat him. and then the rest of the movie is great.

Is Mena Suvari really going to be the lead female? If so, i'll be there opening night.

man, why does this look so bad? why couldn't they just use romero's original day of the dead script?(which he didn't use originally due to money contraints)

im just so dissapointed so far with this. i HOPE to be proven wrong, but i doubt i wil

Please stop.
Dear Hollywood,

Please stop. Your audience is not entirely stupid. There are better ways to make money. Offer Nick Cannon's life for auction. He must be stopped before he causes any more harm. ( I would never really try to kill Nick Cannon) Down with Hollywood anyway!

(simplified letter)
Dear Hollywood,

You suck.

That's when you know a movie has gone to hell in a hand basket. It's little quotes like that, that let me know it would be better to gouge my eyes out with a turtle than spend $ on seeing this remake.

FU*K Nick Cannon. Dave Chappelle!

PLEASE! For the love of all that is unholy in horror movie's, SCRAP THIS PILE OF WALKING GARBAGE!
I've only just seen the trailer, and jeiwed the stars. NOT IMPRESSED.
The star zombie's name was in fact "BUB", not bud,
The fact that the director of "Halloween H2Balls" is running the show is a joke,
Nick Cannon! WTF!

Hollywood, you are in fact making a big mistake. Stop what your doing to this horror classic. Trash what little you have so far. And do some homework before you attempt to remake the best.
