Synopsis: Graham Holt is a loner, a man whose life is lacking in both social and physical relationships. But he suddenly wants to become a father, leading to his adopting James, a moody 10-year-old whose mother has died and whose father is in prison. Before the adoption is complete, the two are allowed to live together, although James is unwilling to accept Graham as his father, maintaining hope that he will be reunited with his real dad.
