Starts out fast, dangerous, sexy, confident, funny with an edge. It ends up confused, bloated, unable to leave the stage when it should.

Consensus: While the premise sounds promising, the movie turns out to be a tedious and unnecessarily violent heist movie that's low on laughs and leaves no cliche unturned.

A skilled band of criminals gang together with a goal to get rich at the 2001 International Elvis Convention in Las Vegas. Dressed to the nines as flawless Elvis impersonators and armed with enough ammo and electronic gadgets to easily knock off any establishment, it's no surprise when, at the last minute, the deal goes bad. A wild action-adventure film with twisting plot and a kicking soundtrack by George Clinton, 3,000 MILES TO GRACELAND is a non-stop rollicking ride. [More]

Reviews for 3000 Miles to Graceland
From its first jumpsuited Elvis to its last fireball, 3000 Miles to Graceland can be called meretricious, but not soporific.
Rather than giving Costner a chance to reinvent himself, all this movie really does is give him an opportunity to overact, while the rest of his co-stars -- including Kurt Russell -- stand around looking bored.
This is so relentlessly wrongheaded and downright ugly a movie that you want to call The Hague and demand an international tribunal be formed to investigate possible crimes against humanity.
The violence is brutal and, literally and figuratively, smacks of overkill.
Goes through all the usual motions of a heist film -- heist, betrayal, chase, showdown -- and then, in case you missed them the first time, it goes through them again.
There are some plot holes that appear to have been set up to be resolved but just got left hanging when it was recut.
It's violence for the sake of violence, and completely devoid of style.
The smirking dialogue plays especially poorly in juxtaposition with the excessive violence.
An entertainingly heartless movie, made with style, energy and a modicum of humor.
What movie was this again? Oh, that’s right, the new shoot-'em-up, 3000 Miles to Graceland. Hand me that checklist.
One of the bloodiest and mind-bogglingly dumb action-adventures since the heyday of Steven Seagal.
The problem for the viewer is finding a reason to give a hoot about any of these people.
This low-aiming actioner revels in cheap thrills and cheaper laughs that have already been fully exploited elsewhere.
For those fed up with Costner's frequent cornpone heroism (as worst exemplified in The Postman), this movie will prove a welcome antidote.
