But appearances can be deceiving. The women quickly discover they have more in common than they imagined when they learn their respective prince charmings are really pathetic toads. Partners in crime, their boyfriends Lyle and Richie are also prison mates doing time for a flubbed robbery. Recognizing that they've both fallen for jerks, Kathy and Carmen move in together and face hostile environments, poverty and even hunger.
