He's a drunk and aging delinquent, infamous in Dukesberry for spreading misery as deftly as he belches full sentences. He's facing prison when Whitey Duvall (Sandler again), a lovable, physically challenged man, proposes that Stone work with him at the community center as a referee for the local basketball league. The surly Stone accepts the job, and moves in with Whitey and his twin sister, Eleanore (also voiced by Sandler). But the true test is whether Stone can rise above his self-destructive habits in order to reunite with his former girlfriend, Jennifer (Jackie Titone), and act as a role model for her young son, Benjamin (Austin Stout). The snow-covered landscapes in EIGHT CRAZY NIGHTS have a pleasing, three-dimensional realism that's as cheerful as a Hallmark holiday card. Sandler, with his wide range of inane, high-pitched voices, is as funny as ever, punctuating the innocent world of EIGHT CRAZY NIGHTS with the refreshingly irreverent brand of humor he displayed in HAPPY GILMORE, THE WEDDING SINGER, and BIG DADDY. Though the film isn't really for kids, Sandler and Kearsley manage to make even the more daring animated characters--like one with three breasts--seem harmless. EIGHT CRAZY NIGHTS also features the voices of Jon Lovitz, Kevin Nealon, Rob Schneider, and Tyra Banks. [More]

Reviews for Adam Sandler's Eight Crazy Nights
Do not, under any circumstances, consider taking a child younger than middle school age to this wallow in crude humor.
Without question, it is not the major Hanukkah family classic just waiting to be made.
It’s definitely not made for kids or their parents, for that matter, and I think even fans of Sandler’s comic taste may find it uninteresting.
[T]hat fluttering sound you hear [is] just the critics' goodwill Sandler earned from Punch-Drunk Love flying out the window.
Here’s to hoping we never have to spend a 9th crazy night with Whitey, Davey, and the whole crappy gang.
Too childish to be enjoyed by adults and too nasty to be enjoyed by the toddlers.
Every bit as violent, profane, mean-spirited and artificially sentimental as any live-action Adam Sandler movie.
It didn’t warm my heart, but it sure did give me a headache. What a horrible, horrible film.
It leaves a far worse taste in your mouth than that old holiday fruitcake in your freezer.
If a lump of coal was once the symbol of a worthless holiday gift, it's now a ticket to Eight Crazy Nights.
Families looking for something to watch together should steer well clear, unless appreciation of outhouse humor is a family tradition.
