An air of desperation hovers over each episode of the incoherent story line.

Reviews for The Adventures of Pluto Nash
A film made with as little wit, interest, and professionalism as artistically possible for a slummy Hollywood caper flick.
For a purported comedy, the film barely qualifies as funny, if even that.
There's a reason the studio didn't offer an advance screening. "The Adventures of Pluto Nash" is a big time stinker.
A scandalous waste of cinematic resources: a comedy with no laughs, a sci-fi epic without wonder, an action thriller with no thrills.
The Adventures of Pluto Nash is an inane, tacky and stultifying experience for anyone to endure. Gee, talking about a meteoric miscalculation! What did you ever do to deserve this idiotic rocket-sized ruse?
A limp Eddie Murphy vehicle that even he seems embarrassed to be part of.
Aspires to the cracked lunacy of The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai, but thanks to an astonishingly witless script ends up more like The Adventures of Ford Fairlane.
The long-delayed "The Adventures of Pluto Nash" finally has been released into the end-of-summer Sargasso Sea of lost films where it will probably be quickly forgotten.
Intriguing Old-West-meets-Space-Age atmosphere, but lame attempts at humor mount up and lie there, unappreciated, like a plate of overcooked spaghetti.
We never thought we'd never say this, but, Eddie, please bring back the talking bear or put on the fat suit... or something.
While the film misfires at every level, the biggest downside is the paucity of laughter in what’s supposed to be a comedy.
What distinguishes this, Eddie Murphy's worst movie, from other alleged comedies is that its dollar-to-laughs ratio might be a record setter -- although computations involving the number zero do tend to get complicated.
Eddie Murphy tries to be the suave hero type again, and because of a very weak storyline, he doesn't really succeed.
So unremittingly awful that labeling it a dog probably constitutes cruelty to canines.
Sadly, though many of the actors throw off a spark or two when they first appear, they can't generate enough heat in this cold vacuum of a comedy to start a reaction.
