Ice Cube Joining John Singleton's A-Team?
We've always suspected that Cube felt pity for fools.
by Jeff Giles | January 08, 2008
Blog Article | Discuss Article
John Singleton has officially signed on to direct the A-Team movie -- and Ice Cube, for one, wholeheartedly approves.

So wholeheartedly, in fact, that he's contemplating a turn as team mechanic B.A. Baracus, the role originally played to glowering perfection by the show's breakout star, Mr. T. Responding to a Variety report about Cube being under consideration for the part, Blackfilm took the opportunity to ask him about A-Team during a press junket in support of his latest film, First Sunday.

Asked if he'd consider playing Baracus, Cube responded "Hell yeah, especially with John Singleton directing," going on to say that as a fan of the show, the role would be "not a dream come true, but...definitely a good thing to do." And here's the answer to the question everyone's asking:

I wouldn't try to duplicate what Mr. T did, but I will have the same impact on you when you were little watching the TV show. I'm going to bring my own flavor to it and I am going to do the mohawk.

As long as it keeps him from making another sequel to Are We There Yet?, pretty much anything Ice Cube does is all right by us. The mohawk is just a bonus.

So head be like a muscle-less Mr. T? Is he gonna have all the gold chains. Maybe a grill for a little modern Cube flavor. This is so laughable, Ha!

i feel sorry for you fans of this, i guarantee its not going to be what you think. matt damon or wilson is a dream. wahlberg should be the next to agree to be in the film, and then i think thats the only pale face you'll see.

Great. Ice Cube can't act, though he does have the attitude down. Sure, we all loved Doughboy, but that movie was carried by a strong cast and good story. Who else could play Mr. T and make it their own? Seriously, let's hear it.

I second Jeff. Anything to give Cube a break from making "films" like "Are we there yet?" and "First Sunday" is enough to garner my support.

OK, back with another obvious comment: I pity the fool trying to replace Mr. T. There, it's been said. We can move on with less obvious witicisms now. It just needed to be here.

Nah no Ice Cube for B.A. Baracus, lol. Ice cube couldn't convince me in the role. With that being said I don't think the Baracus character would need the gold chains and mohawk-I think that was just Mr. T being Mr. T. I mean he acted and looked like that long before and after the show. Ving Rhames, obvious choice.

listen and enjoy.

I tried picturing a gold-roped Cube running and gunning with a 'hawk on his dome, but it wasn't that easy. he did a good amount of ballin in 'three kings' though. the only other candidates for me were ving rhames or Mr. T himself, so this isn't so bad. As long as they stay away from no-names in the other three roles, this could be a good time.

oh, and the fan has to have rims and Tom-Tom.

yeah, lets Mr.T reprise his role, in the latest WoW Ads he still looks the same and still has the cocky attitute (though his arm looks a bit sloppy but that can be retrained).

Wahlberg as Hannibal would be great, and he already played in one of Singleton's film.

The problem with bringing back Mr. T is it would be weird seeing him surrounded by all new faces. It'll be like a Twilight Zone episode, but not.

Michael Clark Duncan for B.A.!! Ving Rhames would be a good choice too.

Ving Rhames or Michael Clarke Duncan would be a whole lot better choices than Ice Cube.

I could see Ving Rhames. That would lend to a little more credibility. I vote Cleveland Brown.

Clarke Duncan has SO not the attitude. he is just a big muscle pack. Ice Cube got the right attitude, he even has the grim look of Mr.T, just watch his new comeback video.

but well he lacks the body, but hell i think he can get that easier, then other muscletowers can get the grim look or B Pwnuall A BARACUS
