"Avatar" Definitely Coming -- But Not Soon
by Scott Weinberg | February 26, 2007

Hey, you got any plans for May 22nd, 2009? Me neither. Hey, let's go see the new James Cameron movie that day. Cool, I'll put it in my calendar.

Yep, 5/22/09 is when we'll get to see James Cameron's "Avatar," which is already a project I'd call "highly-anticipated."

Our source describes the "Avatar" plot as such: "The story involves an injured ex-space marine who is given a chance to share a body with an alien on a colonial planet — one rich in life, and with a potentially violent clash of cultures and politics."

And Cameron's been telling everyone how this flick will re-invent the special effects wheel. OK, Jim. You have 39 months.

So, Battle Angel in 2012 if Cameron can still remeber the plot by then.

I'm kind of tired of hearing about this movie. Hopefully the summer date won't mean its a summer blockbuster/popcorn movie. Re-invent the special effects wheel? By the time this movie's made we'll all be flying hover cars... wheels will be obselete. Exaggerations aside, I hope it's worth the wait.

All of james camerons films have ben nothing short of amazing. The terminator was increidble, aliens was even better and terminator 2 was just great. Lets not forget the abyss as well as true lies and even titanic. James cameron never failed to impress movie goers and now after hes done 2 documentaries after titanics success hes finally ready to deliver another masterpiece.

All of james camerons films used the latest in visual effects and now that his newest film avatar would push the envelope. If anyone has been on the terminator 2 ride in universal then you should know where james cameron would go with the CGI and 3D technology.
