A Half-Decade-Early "Avatar" Poster?
by Scott Weinberg | April 06, 2007
Discuss Article
Wow. How often do you get to see a poster for a movie that won't hit theaters for another four years? Well, if you know JoBlo then you can do it today if you like. There's always a chance it could be a fakie, but for right now it does look like James Cameron's impending "Avatar" has a one-sheet.

Click here to savor the postery goodness over at the Emporium. And you might want to savor it for a few extra seconds, because that's all the "Avatar" stuff you're going to see for the next 18 months or so. (Yeah, right.)

Apparently the poster was snagged from somewhere on Weta's camp, which means it's either an "authorized leak" or there's a movie geek down in New Zealand who can run really fast. Reports indicate that the poster's all sorts of swanky, too. Full of 3-D technology and what-not. Anyway, why listen to me blather? Check out the poster or just move on to the next story!

i believe a half-decade is 5 years...

and blank blank, what the hell is a "live action cartoon"? isn't that a contradiction in terms?

Wow, so not even close to a half decade. Plus, the poster looks fakey-wakey to me. Look at the "believe it or not" text. Looks like hockey cock.

I think it is stupid to freeze a release for 5 years, and more stupid to release a poster half decade, 2 or 3 years before it could happen. What's the point?

The point being James Cameron hasn't had a good movie for...well since Titanic. I wouldn't call Titanic good but it made some money. The point is to generate what people like yourself are doing now. Asking questions both about the product and what in the hell it's about. That way James Cameron's name is out there.

Something about some guy's soul inhabiting an alien body. Or is it vice-versa?
