The problem has reached crisis levels, with many communities all over America plagued by stray cats and dogs, most of whom have been left deserted on the street by uncaring owners. Shelters are bursting at the seams with unwanted animals, and there is only a 50% chance that stray pets will find a loving home. Lofton's film follows two pets--Clover and Oreo--as they make their way through two shelters, but face euthanasia if a home isn't quickly found for them. Lofton is a former shelter-worker who decided to proactively tackle the problem she saw unfolding before her eyes, and handles the subject well in this emotional film. Equal parts moving and infuriating, BEST FRIEND FORGOTTEN exposes a little-known problem occurring within communities all over the country. [More]
