An author of mystery novels (Vanous) from a small mountain town is obsessed with writing the perfect crime story, although his friend, the jaded local police chief (Brimley), is weary of the possibility of such a crime. Suddenly, a rash of mysterious murders begin to occur, and the comparison's to the murders in the writers work in progress are all too similar. Unbeknownst to the chief, the killer has been forwarding details of his crime to the writer in the mail, which are ending up in the novel. What are the killer's motives? Will the writer continue to withhold information from the authorities in order to finish his masterpiece? A twisted conclusion reveals all in this stylish murder mystery. [More]
