Olivier plays Onofre Bouvila, a determined young man who moves to Barcelona in the late 19th century, when an impoverished Spain is rife with death, disease, and despair. Upon his arrive in the big city, he immediately meets the beautiful and intriguing Delfina (Emma Suarez), an anarchist who tries to politicize Onofre.
