This particular hermitage is the repository for many artifacts that the Church deemed to be cursed, and are therefore ordered by the Pope to be hidden away from human eyes. A beautiful carving of two women arrives at the monastery via the hands of emissary Father Michael (William B. Davis, the chain smoking agent from the X-FILES) He warns that even touching the statue may unleash the most foul and horrible demons known to man. Curiosity gets the better of the brothers and they break into a vault where these cursed artifacts are stored. Seduced by the images, Tomas unwittingly releases Munkar (Mary Mara) and Nakir (Rebecca Harrell), two female demons who look like vampires in serious need of a makeover. Through a time machine that has also been stored in the vault, they travel to 21st-century Seattle. Adopting the guise of prostitutes, they kill and wreak havoc on modern society. Tomas, guilt ridden by his actions, follows close behind and is discovered by street smart detective Rachel Dressler (Gina Ravera), who considers him the prime suspect in a series of some unexplained murders. In the spirit of BUFFY, with a bit of X-FILES thrown in for good measure, this flick has everything that is so compelling about time travel stories. Merging sacred and ancient traditions with an edgy, modern slickness, SAINT SINNER is a fun ride. [More]
