On a mere 48 hour leave, a soldier meets an office worker, falls in love and marries her. The film recreates the landmarks of New York City, especially the magnificent old Penn Station, to serve as the grand backdrop for this whirlwind courtship. Unlike many sentimental romantic tales this film is built on the small, subtle details of two people falling in love. [More]

Reviews for The Clock
...generally as affable and lighthearted as its premise might have indicated.
The beginning and ending are symmetrical: Story opens at Penn State, picking up a soldier (Robert Walker) in the crowd, and it ends when Alice (Judy Garland) sees him off at Penn State, with the camera pulling off until her figure is lost in the crowd
A nice little wartime romance. Garland and Walker are sweet at the young couple in love.
