In fact he needs to pay the consequences for his actions, in order to validate the religious upbringing that he still so obviously believes in on some level, even though he has long since rejected it. When he doesn't "pay" for his crime, is validates his fear that there is no justice in the universe. Which to him is worse than being brought to justice for his sins. (Reply to this) |
