Troubles begin to unravel the Major when dandelions take over his garden and a real estate deal with a colleague (David Thewlis) goes awry. His home life is equally difficult with a wife (Sarah Miles) who nags him every step of the way. Arsenic solves the dandelion situation and Armstrong wonders if it will render his other problems as well. Armstrong went from being a quiet magistrate in the sleepy Welsh village of Hay-on-Wye to being one of England's most notorious murderers in what he claimed was just an attempt to control the dandelion infestation of his garden. This British mini-series from crime specialist Mike Hodges (CROUPIER) dramatizes his compelling true life tale, deftly handling the action with his typical hard-boiled style. [More]
