When John Anderson and his friends catch an impromptu performance by trumpeter Billy Cross and his band, John immediately determines to devote himself to music. The young Australian particularly longs to go to Paris, where many of the finest American jazz players -- including Billy -- live as expatriates. However, real life intervenes with its demands and distractions, and John ends up married and working as a dingo trapper. He continues to play with a local band, but that fails to fulfill his musical ambitions. So John decides he must do something to make his dreams come true... The final section of this film features an amazing jam session headed by Miles Davis. [More]
