James Marsters

Alien

Alien

"I thought this was a really interesting mix of horror and sex. There are so many sexual references, from the robot attacking Sigourney Weaver, and he rolls up a magazine and stuffs it down her throat, I mean, wow! Or the fact that Ash's blood looks like semen, it's just a lot of that kind of stuff. Deep, deep psychological sexual stuff; like calling the computer 'Mother'.

It's really fascinating, and I think that's why it's so successful in scaring you. It places imagery that's deep and sexual in a horror show. It's designed to scare people, all this stuff that is repressed, and gets inside their psyche and is truly uncomfortable, and I think it's right in (Alien artist and production designer) HR Giger's designs, I think sex is what we're all afraid of."

Great list!

Ratatouille, I think, is one of the best animations ever made by a great director. As a food lover, I loved this treat.

Never watched Buffy or anything Dragon Ball Z, but I might see this movie and every movie this guy makes in the future.

I liked his explanations for the most part. I do believe Ratatouille is a great movie, moreso than WallE for me because it was less preachy and less filled with hackneyed and cliched social critique, so that's not a bad choice.

I like that it wasn't a totally standard list. Evidently he's a Ridley Scott fan!

What's wrong with Ratatouille, you got something against animation or good movies?

James obviously took a course on filming and had to study the first four films except Ratatouille, James is obviously a passionate movie buff.

The Milagro pic is from An Unfinished Life.

Great films, every one of them.

Spike loves Ratatouille ? Strange. (Sorry, I'm a huge Buffy fan :P)

Good list. Alien is one of my favorites, and Apocalypse Now and Brave Runner are both great.

Spike loves Ratatouille. This gets approval.

Too bad this is going to be the worst piece of crap since crap was first crapped.

Umm, i am pretty sure you have no idea what you are talking about since the movie is BLADE RUNNER not "Brave" Runner. But what can we expect from a Buffy fan.
