Combining punk with funk and a little bit of ska and rap may have become a common formula on the music scene, but it wasn't always that way. All genres have their pioneers, and alongside like-minded spirits The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Fishbone paved the way for an explosion of similar acts, most of whom emerged in the 1990s. Their recorded output has produced some innovative records (with 1988's TRUTH AND SOUL perhaps still their defining moment), but it's in the live arena that they really excel. The infectious enthusiasm of frontman Angelo Moore is backed by a super-tight band, who always manage to energize a crowd wherever they play. On LIVE IN AMSTERDAM they pummel their way through an 80 minute set, offering a selection of audience-pleasing material which spans their entire career. [More]
