"Ghost" in a Live-Action "Shell"?
This falls under the 'news before the actual news' category, but according to ComingSoon.net, Variety is reporting that Kodansha, the company behind the popular "Ghost in the Shell" manga books and cartoons, has sold the property's live-action rights to animation studio Production I.G.
Details are scant, but fans can expect that the adaptation, true to the franchise, will focus on the futuristic exploits of crimefighter Motoko Kusanagi. Whether those old April Fool's rumors regarding James Cameron directing and Trent Reznor doing the soundtrack will prove to be true, however, is another story.

Who'll play the Major?

Scito writes: on Jan 23 2007 09:10 AM Production IG. wouldn't make a live-action movie, would they? IF they want one, they would most likely sell the rights (to an American producer). Anyone agree? No matter how terrible a GitS live-action flik is, it could never tarnish the original anime films or the manga for that matter. (Reply to this) |
