Quentin Tarantino Stimulated to Write Swedish Soft-Core Film
Ikea wasn’t the only thing that put Swedish Architecture on the map.

Quentin Tarantino has a penchant for reviving under-recognized genres. Reservoir Dogs put gangster films into the public eye again; Jackie Brown updated blaxploitation and his last film Death Proof made its associations as clear as possible as part of a collection called Grindhouse.

Next on his revivalist roster is Scandinavian Soft-Core. For those of us less familiar with Stockholm Sex Farces, these were usually comedies about married or single (s)experimenters living in (usually) posh apartments in the sexy capital of Sweden or Denmark or some other European nation where it snows. Scandinavian Softcore commonly involved politics by featuring class mixing and Swedish Softcore films were rather famous for their displays of luxurious or high fashion home interiors.

Tarantino reaffirmed that this project would be in the style of his previous efforts while talking to The London Daily Telegraph: "I came up with the idea of like a cool sex movie that would take place in Stockholm, with a couple of Americans visiting a couple of Swedish friends...Kind of like the girls in Death Proof, just going out drinking, having a good time, hooking up."

Tarantino's known for pushing the envelope. "If I actually do an erotic movie, I'm going to have to reveal what I find sexy, what turns me on. And when it comes to sex in movies, it's got to be kind of kinky, because that's what's cinematic, that's what's fun."

Seems like the fans will be getting to know even more about QT than they ever could have expected from Kill Bill.

Actually, the source article (The London Daily Telegraph) is a really, really good interview with him. They mention Inglorious Bastards as still on the horizon, but more interestingly the interview was done after Grindhouse bombed in the US, so you see how QT has handled his first non-success. I think it's pretty great. Makes me want to meet him even more now, just for the conversation.

Quentin Tarantino's Cowboy Bebop has a nice ring to it. Oh, and just to mention, Quentin scrapped Inglorious Bastards for Pussywaggon: The Movie.

If you read the whole article it says the sex movie is just an idea.

Inglorious Bastards is still his next project.

Anyone remember his cowgirl fake trailer idea, or the martial arts movie all in a foreign language? Inglorious B. is still the front runner.

I'm sorry, as soon as I read the quote "If I actually do an erotic movie, I'm going to have to reveal what I find sexy, what turns me on. And when it comes to sex in movies, it's got to be kind of kinky, because that's what's cinematic, that's what's fun" I got totally nauseous.

This movie is going to be nothing but toe-sucking, arch-licking, foot-sex. Yuck.

I think he likes the wagon that women are draggin as well, because all through death proof, there was alot of *** cleavage as well.

And if he decides to do this, can't wait to see who's cast!!

I would love to see his interviews on the dvd on why he chose this or that actress, "I really liked the way she held the character and the dialog just poured from her, and she had some tasty feet. Suckalicious"

But, I have to agree with the major, Pussywagon: the movie can wait, Give Us some Bastards!!!
