Wild Williams Discusses Batman and New Flicks

Kellvin Chavez of Latino Review had an entertaining sit-down with the maniacal Robin Williams, and the clearly insane comedian dropped some news regarding his upcoming flicks: RV, Happy Feet, The Night Listener, and Night at the Museum. Plus he answers the question of if he'd like to play The Joker in Batman Begins 2.

"The Night Listener, the movie is based upon a Armistead Maupin short story, its based upon a thing that actually happened to him about a woman contacting him and saying I have a child whose been horribly abused, has AIDS and can you start corresponding with him. And eventually started calling and talking to the kid and then you find out later on that the kid didn’t even exist.

I play 3 penguins in Happy Feet, I play the Argentinean the one who sings ‘My Way.’

Night at the Museum is about the Museum of Natural History coming to life at night, which I went “I’m in.”

And when asked if he'd like to reunite with his Insomnia director Christopher Nolan...

"Would you then consider taking a role like the Joker for Batman Begins sequel?
Robin Williams: Oh God Yeah!"

i want hugo weaving as the joker, Robin williams can play good villians but not if they're funny villians, he won't be menacing at all

Nobody seems to realize that the perfect person to play Joker is Crispin Glover.

wow, jarek. I never thought of Crispin. He played Creepy Thin Man in Charlies Angels...he could be more menacing in Batman.

Another possibility that can pull it off would be another "guy" from Nolan's flicks: Guy Pearce! He was a great villain in Count of Monte Cristo and has the acting chops to pull off crazy!

Somebody explain to me why in the trailer the Argentinean penguin is singing My Way with a flamenco musical arrangement... (?!) If they put the effort in making Williams sing in Spanish with an Argentinean accent, they could have done a bit more of research into the music of that country and actually borrow typical instrumentation and rhythms from Argentina. Flamenco ?! Well, why didn't they just throw in mariachis in the mix as well ?! :-(

I'll be sorely disappointed is the Joker is played by anyone but Crispin Glover.

Guy Pearce would make a better Harvey Dent.

I think Robin Williams time has passed to play the Joker and that his style wouldn't fit today's Batman. My choice for the Joker would be Hugo Weaving or as Jarek said Crispin Glover.
