JRW1980 writes: on Jun 30 2009 01:14 PM My local theater has multiple screens that can show IMAX 3D so I am sure other theaters must also be like that. What can't they just show Transformers 2 on some of them and Harry Potter on the others? (Reply to this) |

IMAmoose24 writes: on Jun 30 2009 01:14 PM I agree that transformers was... upsetting.. but I mean, I'm one who wouldn't see Harry Potter opening weekend in Imax. Way too long of lines and can be a hastle (though I do credit them for my 8 imax viewings of THE DARK KNIGHT). I wouldn't be seeing this till mid-late august. Should be incredible though. OOTP was excellent in Imax. (Reply to this) |

Drew G. writes: on Jun 30 2009 01:53 PM JRW1980 They sacnt just show any film in imax. Imax print are in a different format than regular scope/flat formatted movies. Just cuz they have the screens doesnt mean they can show it on them. Thought i would clear that up. Im getting so sick of these potter movies. Story is retarded. It's way too far fetched to ever make any sense. They need to tone down the craziness of the stories. Im getting sick of watching them and on numerous occasions throughout the movie saying, "WTF, how does that apply to the movie? OR make any sense?" (Reply to this) |

Bigbrother writes: on Jun 30 2009 03:39 PM In reply to this comment (#2519605) You do know it's a story about fictional wizards right? Believability wasn't really what Jo was going for I think. Do you fault The Wizard of Oz for not being believable? Sorry I just don't get your argument there. (Reply to this) |

Bigbrother writes: on Jun 30 2009 03:48 PM Sorry, I get what you're saying now. Your use of far-fetched threw me off. Still, not entirely sure the argument has merit, but to each their own. (Reply to this) |

Elisha writes: on Jun 30 2009 04:09 PM In reply to this comment (#2519605) You know they can't really 'tone down,' the stories, right? I mean, they've already been written. (Reply to this) |

Bigbrother writes: on Jun 30 2009 04:33 PM In reply to this comment (#2519690) The criticism might make J.K. Rowling lose a bit of sleep. Ya know, those huge piles of money she sleeps on have to be uncomfortable and the adoration of millions is probably annoying in it's volume after a while. (Reply to this) |

Ico fan writes: on Jun 30 2009 04:36 PM Personally, I've never been able to sit through more than 15mins of a Harry Potter movie, but after seeing the trailers, this one might break the mold. (Reply to this) |

JRW1980 writes: on Jun 30 2009 05:42 PM In reply to this comment (#2519605) I know they just can't show any movie in IMAX. Yes, I know the format is totally different but you missed the point of what I was saying. If my theater has say two separate screens fully outfitted for IMAX then why can't they play two different films in IMAX at the same time? You have one IMAX capable system playing the IMAX copy of Transformers 2 in one of the rooms on an IMAX screen and have the other IMAX capable system playing Harry Potter in the other room on the other IMAX screen. Is it the IMAX corporation themselves not allowing the theaters because they are greedy and let companies buy the right to monopolize the format for periods of time? (Reply to this) |

celia h. writes: on Jun 30 2009 06:10 PM I'm planning on seeing in both the regular theater and in Imax, so this works for me. I'll just see it about 3 times the normal way and when July 29th comes around I will see it in Imax. I can't wait!!! ONly 14 DAYS TO GO!!! :D (Reply to this) |

tfortier writes: on Jul 01 2009 04:39 AM Yeah but the last HP was painful because I've read the book just before. Im not digging that director that much. He put out good stuff from the book and replace it by watered down new stuff. The best HP director was Cuaron, at least the actors look like they had fun making the movie. In Ootp they look always sleepy. Still the new death eaters suits are very cool. (Reply to this) |

JAKEofMIDWORLD writes: on Jul 01 2009 11:17 AM I never cared to read the books, just not my thing. My wife forced me to watch the movies and I have to admit, they are entertaining. I'll wait for the DVD though. (Reply to this) |
