The new Hellraiser films aren’t perfect, but at least they’re not totally decimating a beloved franchise as the new Crow films are.

Originally conceived as an independent horror film, screenwriter Neal Stevens' (13 GHOSTS) script was adapted for the HELLRAISER mythos. Tough female reporter Amy Klein (Kari Wuhrer) begins investigating a bizarre cult gaining ground in Bucharest. The group promotes suicide with the claim that it can bring the dead back to life. In order to verify these wild claims, Amy has no other option but to join the cult, and what she discovers will shock her to the core. HELLRAISER: DEADER continues the fan-favorite horror series. Reviews for Hellraiser: Deader
You know you're in trouble when the word you use to augment your franchise moniker is a semi-creepy, made-up word (why not "Hellraiser: Spookeegery").
The film is rated R for violence, gore, drugs, nudity, and simulated sex. You'd have thought the filmmakers could have found something in there of interest to a viewer.
We figure most viewers want their horror films to be, you know, scary. Which Deader is not.
The Hellraiser-ish material is just kind of wedged in here and there with little sense, rhythm, or excitement.
