Trailer Bulletin: "Hitman" Teaser Up For Grabs
by Alex Vo | June 27, 2007
Discuss Article
October's shaping to be an entertaining month, what with "3:10 to Yuma," "30 Days of Night," and "Hitman" all slated for release within a week of each other. And Fox has just put out the first teaser trailer to "Hitman" to whet the action appetite, which you can check out here.

And if you're dying to see the trailer on a really, really big screen, it'll be attached to "Live Free or Die Hard" (which is opening today to surprisingly positive reviews).

"Hitman" stars Timothy Olyphant as Agent 47, a cool, introverted death dealer who cuts a bloody swath across Europe to discover who (what else?) set him up. With explosions set to opera music and a "THX 1138"-ish scene of Agent 47 getting his barcode tattoo, the teaser suggests we're in for an elegant and very stylish action flick.

"Hitman" opens October 12. Click here to check out the teaser.

Yeah, I thought the same thing. He's not really doing it for me as Agent 47. It should have been Jason Stantham. (Sorry, Tim)

Not very impressed. As an actor, I find Olyphant to be extremely respectable, but the trailer doesn't really do much for me. Still, it could end up being pretty good.

Doesn't look THAT bad. Liked the music. Innapropriate for the subject material, like Live Free of Die Hard. I don't know why I find that funny, but I do.

Do you play the games?
The trailer looks good for translation and has the vibe of the game. I can only hope this is a decent movie.

Can't say I have. I've played a demo, but that's about it.

Too many explosions. I'm fine with Tim as Agent 47, I think he'll do fine.

1 explosion. Maybe 2. Don't say nonsense. And it's most likely near the end, climax.

It's not nonsense. I'm just a huge fan of the games and when I see multiple explosions (2) in the trailer it worries me a bit. Okay? Is that alright with you?

he looks a little young to me. i dunno, maybe its just my view but kinda was expecting him to look a little older or tougher looking. if this doesn't make sense, i will try and explain better.

I really don't think he fits the part, it's like he's trying too hard to look like him and it just doesn't work. (he reminds me of what the little mutant boy from X3 would look like if he grew up)

I was disappointed with the casting of Timothy Olyphant as Agent 47 at first, but he actually looks okay in the teaser. He sort of looks like a "young" 47, and if this film is successful enough to spawn a few sequels, he could really nail the character as he gets older.

I'm not too worried about the explosions. Remember, this is only a teaser trailer.

Yeah, I don't really care either way, but I thought the Hitman was supposed to be older, too (or that's what I got from watching friends play the game).

Trailer kind of reminds of Ultraviolet; lots of explosions and pretty effects and stuff, but not much else.

Not the guy for the part. Regardless, looks like it has potential.

Now you're just being picky
Yea whatever. You're seriously complaining about 2 friggin explosions. Huge fan of the games you say? Do you follow the story? Do you expect the whole movie to be quiet with only stealth kills, not him finding out his identity like in the games or being targeted himself? In the game Hitman Blood Money you can plant explosives to take out targets. And if you look at one of the explosion, it is two SWAT guys in a hallway with a door ram being blown back. Hello, remember the end of Hitman Contracts where Hitman's apartment is stormed by SWAT? Come on man, you know the Hitman story.

Olyphant looks too young to me as well. I would have preferred an unknown actor for the part, as it would compliment Agent 47's mysterious past.

As long as they have him playing the role completely flat and emotionally cold it could still work.
